It’s hard enough struggling through the homework and social aspects of high school without having to worry about where you’ll sleep or what you’ll eat. As of now, thousands of high school aged students are homeless, disadvantaged, or displaced throughout the Las Vegas valley. Project 150 is a non-profit charity that helps about 5,000 homeless students receive the essentials they need to succeed in and out of school. Named after the 150 high school students the organization’s founders heard about when they first started their supply drive, Project 150 currently serves more than 40 high schools in the Clark County district and 15 schools in Reno. People looking to help end the homeless epidemic are asked to donate school supplies, non-perishable food items, new or gently used clothing, and other essential hygiene and clothing items that disadvantaged teens need.
Project 150 gives students a chance to focus on their schoolwork so that they can succeed academically. As this charity continues, Project 150 has grown to include a scholarship program as well as events such as Prom Closet, where teens can go and find their prom dresses and suits absolutely free of charge. Project 150’s leaders are passionate about getting each and every child a better chance of a prosperous future. Offer your support today by donating money, clothing, school supplies, and anything else you can to ensure the next generation gets the education they all deserve.
